…continuing to build villas…

Refurbishing villas is not an everyday job for architects. If something like that comes along, swelling of history and fame – you got to get your finest scalpels ready, you have got to search for all and every traces, not only for historical layers, but also categorizing architectural and functional values. You have got to compare the historical and the practical matters. Every moment and also during the realization. This is a big challenge in the mixture of excellent craftsmanship, fashion and mere representation of historizing buildings. There is only a thin line between keeping too much kitsch and erasing too much substance.
Continuing means senting for the essence of a building, taking care of red lines and inserting functions in appropriate places. It means merging old and new looking forward to a new entity.
